1. What are your fees?

Our standard fee is NZ$120 per 50-minute session. We offer a sliding scale for clients who demonstrate financial need. This can be addressed in the first interview.

3. Do you accept insurance?

Currently, we do not accept any insurance.

4. How long does therapy usually last? How long is one session?

The duration of therapy varies greatly depending on individual needs and goals. Some clients find short-term therapy (8-12 sessions) sufficient for addressing specific issues, while others benefit from longer-term support. A session typically lasts 50 minutes.

5. What can I expect in the first session?

The initial session, often called an intake or assessment, typically lasts 50 minutes. During this time, we’ll:

  • Discuss your reasons for seeking therapy
  • Gather relevant background information
  • Address any questions or concerns you may have
  • Begin to formulate a treatment plan

This is also an opportunity for you to determine if you feel comfortable working with the therapist.

6. Is what I say in therapy confidential?

Confidentiality is a cornerstone of therapy. What you share in sessions is protected by law and ethical guidelines. However, there are a few exceptions where therapists are legally required to break confidentiality:

  1. If there’s a risk of imminent harm to yourself or others
  2. Suspicion of abuse of children, elderly, or dependent adults
  3. If required by a court order
